About Sons Rio Cibolo

Tucked along a quiet stretch of Cibolo Creek in Marion, Texas, Sons Rio Cibolo is a calm-water retreat about 35 minutes east of San Antonio and just 20 minutes from New Braunfels. The property sits on spring-fed creek frontage shaded by towering cypress and pecan trees, making it one of the coolest spots in the Hill Country during the heat of summer. It's our most family-friendly day-visit property — the water stays calm and shallow most of the year, so first-time paddlers and small kids can wade right in.

• Restrooms, freshwater rinse stations, and on-site parking
• Calm swim areas and a designated kid-friendly wade zone

Planning Your Day

Day visits run from 10am to 6pm. Check in at the welcome gate, drive directly to your reserved cabana, and unload coolers, food, and your own floats. Outside food and non-glass beverages are welcome — we don't run a kitchen on site, so most guests pack a cooler or pick up groceries in nearby Schertz or Cibolo on the drive in. Pets are not permitted at this property.

Good To Know Before You Book

Weekend cabanas book out 3–4 weeks in advance during peak season (May through Labor Day). Weekday rates are lower and availability is much wider — Tuesday through Thursday is our quietest, most peaceful window. If your group is bigger than 12, contact us about combining adjacent cabanas. All reservations include a same-day rain check policy in case of weather.
