A private spot on the lake

This isn't a beach chair under a rented umbrella.

A cabana on Son's Island is your group's own shaded shoreline outpost for the day — with a private dock, BBQ pit, picnic table, hammock, and direct walk-in access to calm spring-fed water. You bring the cooler and the people. We handle the rest.

    Your own private dock

    Your own private dock

Every cabana comes with its own floating dock with ladder — no shared space, no waiting for a spot at the water.

    BBQ pit at every cabana

    BBQ pit at every cabana

Charcoal grill, picnic table, and bar top with stools. Bring the food and a bag of charcoal — we have the rest.

    Shade all day long

    Shade all day long

Thatched roofs and hammocks keep the cabana cool even in August. No fighting the sun on a public beach.

    Walk-in lake access

    Walk-in lake access

Calm, spring-fed water just steps from your cabana. Floats, kayaks, and paddle boards available on-site.

Anatomy of a Son's Island Cabana

Every cabana is built around the same idea: shade, your own dock, and a quiet stretch of water for your group.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Island and Key Cabanas?+

Island Cabanas are shaded land cabanas with their own private floating dock. Key Cabanas are built directly over the water on a private dock — step off the cabana into Lake Placid.

    How many guests are included?+

Each day cabana includes entry for 8. You can add up to 15 total guests per cabana for a per-guest fee. Children 2 and under are free.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?+

Yes — coolers, food, and drinks (including alcohol) are welcome. The only restriction is no glass containers anywhere on the island.

Are kayaks and paddle boards included?+

No — but an all-day kayak and paddle board wristband is $24.99 per person and includes unlimited use of the fleet.

    Can I stay overnight in a cabana?+

Daytime cabanas run 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM. For overnight stays, see our sister property options: Son's Geronimo on the spring-fed Geronimo Creek or Son's Rio Cibolo on the spring-fed Cibolo Creek.
